These terraces, built to follow the mountain contours, are a masterpiece passed down through generations of the Miao people. They maintain their primitive charm while displaying vivid dynamism, rising in tiers from the 300-meter valley up to the 1,400-meter mountain top. Most terraced plots cover no more than one mu (about 0.17 acres), featuring graceful lines and an impressive scale. The terraces are a year-round scenic delight: cherry blossoms mirroring in spring waters, rice-fish-duck symbiosis thriving in summer, golden rice waves rolling in autumn, and snow-covered stairways stretching in winter. Traditional Miao stilted buildings are scattered among the terraces, complementing each other to create a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
