Qingyan Ancient Town was first built in the 11thyear of Emperor Hongwu's reign during the MingDynasty (1378 AD). With a history of over 600years, it was initially a military fortress in the MingDynasty and has long been known as "TheImpregnable Stone City". Dingguang Gate, thecore of the ancient town, guards the southerngateway to Guiyang. Historically, it was a strategicstronghold for protecting the granaries of Dingfanand Guangshun.
