As the region's highest and largest natural grassland, its core area spans 178 square kilometers at elevations ranging from 2,000 to 2,857 meters. With average summer temperatures around 20°C, it's hailed as a “natural air-conditioned room” and an ideal summer retreat. The scenic area offers a carefully crafted four-season tourism experience: “Spring for flower viewing, Summer for heat escape, Autumn for Buddha light observation, Winter for skiing.”
In spring, 40,000 mu of plateau dwarf azaleas bloom across the mountains and valleys, transforming the grassland into a dazzling sea of flowers. Summer brings endless green meadows and gentle breezes, making it the perfect season for camping and hiking. The most magical spectacle is the “Grassland Buddha's Light.” On clear mornings after rain, the “Buddha Viewing Platform” offers the best vantage point to witness this natural wonder. This land is also deeply rooted in ancient Yi culture, with various ethnic performances throughout the scenic area. During the annual Torch Festival, visitors can immerse themselves in the fiery atmosphere of a massive bonfire celebration.
