Yunfeng Tunpu, a Ming-dynasty military relic hidden in the karst peaks of central Guizhou, is acclaimed as a "living fossil of Ming-dynasty culture". Yunfeng Tunpu is not an isolated settlement, but a defensive system comprised of several villages, including "Yunshan Tun" and "Benzhai". Built to follow the mountain contours with numerous watchtowers, the stone houses feature distinctive stone-tiled roofs laid out in neat rows, exemplifying the consummate military defensive wisdom of the Cold Weapon Era. The architecture and customs have frozen 600 years of time.
